Ever since SU12 dropped I’m having major stutter issues in the cockpit at the ramp. Specifically when i move the free look cam up to the overhead panel and back down. No matter how slow i perform this it glitches and stutters HARD every time. I finally had the sim running well enough before the update dropped. But soon as i upgraded and made sure my nvidia drivers and my 737NG was up to date this started happening. SU12 also reset all my graphics settings in game so i had to reset all of those values and now i can barely manage single digit fps to maybe 25 on the ground. Once I’m in the air it struggles to stay at 25-30. But it’s very unstable. I have a Pc with a Ryzen 7 5800X cpu liquid cooled with a RTX 3070 ti card with 32GB of ram. 1TB SSD and I’ve never had had great performance in game no matter what settings I’ve changed. If anyone has any recommendations or similar experience let me know. I’ve also had the game cause my hard drive to short out and fail within 6 months of new. This is the only game on this computer. I don’t use it for anything but flight simulator. I tried this in the MS A320N and it was slightly better but still has the same result.

PMDG Forum Rules
1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.
2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.
3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.
4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.
5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.
6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.
7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.
8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.
9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

I have a similar system to you except that I have a Gigabyte Radeon 5700 GPU. I have also seen a degredation in the game. Stutters at every turn. With Asobo it's always 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Sorry that I don't have a fix. But you are not alone.

Thank you! It definitely seems like there are a lot of people who have had issues or experience them constantly like me. It’s really tempting since FSX is only $5 on steam right now and I’m sure our rigs would run it butter smooth. Thinking about downloading it and installing all sorts of scenery updates and add ons. Sure the graphics won’t be as great but it would sure be nice to have a sim that runs stable and doesn’t reset my settings every time there’s an update.

There appears to be an issue (at least for me) if you use an older version of Pete & John Dowson's FSUIPC7 and the new SU12 update. When starting MS2020 this morning to test out the new SU12 I noticed that the sim stuttered rymatically once every second, literally as regular as clockwork, no pun intended. If

I never had any problems with the previous FSUIPC7 version with SU12 or any problem with the current version of FSUIPC7 and SU12.
Some users may be using an FSUIPC7 option or setting that I am not e.g., like saving the sim ever minute or so.
Anyway, the OP in the link is still testing his setup to verify what's going on.
And, another pilot in the link has problems and does not even use FSUIPC7.
Anyway, glad Pete (FSUIPC) supplied a fix for whatever was going on there.
Note: I am not using the additional entry mentioned for the FSUIPC7 ini file and all ok here.

Hi,
You need to download the latest FSUIPC v7.3.19 (direct link: https://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/Install_FSUIPC7.zip)
And please ensure that you also add this line to FSUIPC.ini:
NumberOfPumps=0

I note you do not say what resolution you are running?
Or what if any addon/mods you have installed?
'i can barely manage single digit fps to maybe 25 on the ground.' suggests your settings are way too high.
As well as checking if running FSUIPC see https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-fo...nce-per-second
also check your LOD which I would not bother to go over 130 with, and note ground traffic is also a frame killer for most.
Try setting ground traffic to say 25 on aircraft, worker etc and try again.
Another thing worth doing is to clear your DXCache, and GLCache in the Nvidia folder, it will leave some that are in use so it cannot delete those and will tell you.
Default location for the Nvidia folder is,
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA
I would do that after every Nvidia driver update by the way.
Oh and by the way ' I’ve also had the game cause my hard drive to short out and fail within 6 months of new.' has nothing to do with the game, that was just bad luck.
Edit c'os I forgot to add...
In your Nvidia control panel,
Set Low Latency Mode to Utra
Set Shader Cache Size to Unlimited.
Hope that helps.Last edited by Steve M; 27Mar2023, 23:40.Steve Mel

LOD (Terrain Level Of Detail) is the biggest single hit on the sims FPS.

I would never advise people to set that higher than say 130, the difference visually is pretty much irrelevant beyond that, but the hit to frames is not worth it.
What it does is set draw distance and beyond 130 is very hard to see a difference.
Also take all ground traffic down to say 30, boats etc to 30 too.Steve Mel

I also have this same issue. PMDG 737, 736, 738 and 739. I'm having frame rate hits on the ground and on descent which causes pauses. This is not a universal across the sim, only a problem with PMDG 737s. This has been the most stable of my pay ware airliners which makes this more frustrating. I have done the FSUIPC update and also disabled it. I have rolled back Nvidia driver, lowered settings, and uninstalled/reinstalled the 900 to see if that would work.
