PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

12) HAVE FUN: This is the whole point of it all.

'Cache/cloud save I think are one in the same correct? Or are they two different things?'

As far as I know they are separate (unless there is some sharing going on).
Cache refers to the local cache (data) stored on your PC, Cloud refers to external data stored in the 'cloud' (a term I hate!), meaning stored on a server over the internet.
So in this case George saying 'I was having this issue as well. Deleting and re-enabling my local rolling cache file', simply means he flushed/deleted/cleared (take your pick of terminology) the local cache (data) on his PC, and then basically restarted it again so the Sim will start filling it with fresh data.
As he said it appears to have fixed his problem, it suggests that the local data (in the rolling cache on his PC) had a corruption in it.

Try stopping the Windows Audi Service. I have to do this or MSFS will not load. Once I'm spawned in and hit the FLY banner, I can restart the audio service. I believe this is a conflict with WWISE because there are also other games that use WWISE that I have to do this with.

For everyone having the constant crashes to desktop, look up how to delete your cloud saves from MSFS. For whatever reason, that specific feature from MSFS creates conflict within PMDG…nosewheel steering issues, I had issues with anemic climb rate between different weather settings, and programs, and an untold number of issues.

Warning-deleting the cloud save is like wiping the FSX.cfg of old, you will have to start from scratch with your options, configuration, control bindings and you will lose all record of your flights and achievements within MSFS. However, this has eliminated both issues I have seen that continually plague what is happening inside the sim.

Recommend you try this and report back. It’s an odd bug, and one that I have troubleshot since May ish with the -700 pax version. Performing that task eliminated any frustrations and consternations that have been caused lately.

PMDG IS aware of this issue, and I worked with Paul to run through a lot of these options. This cloud save feature was sent to the dev team, and they know about it. Try this and see what happens.

There’s a thread right now on the MSFS Forums with over 900 replies since August 19 so it’s definitely a widespread data services issue for sure. That issue may be triggered by who knows how many other factors, but I haven’t yet had a problem. Hope it stays that way!

Anyway, if you have never switched servers before, you might have a bit more lag loading in scenery or weather. But if it alleviates stability problems, it still better than just turning all the online stuff completely off.

By contrast, I have run the sim extensively since the weekend, with online services enabled using both live weather and real-time online traffic, and running GSX to boot, all in the 737-700 and a bit in the -600, and haven’t had a problem. Per some rough analysis by the MSFS Forum Community mods, it seems that most of the people having problems are PC users (problem does not affect XBox), on both MS Store and Steam, and those on both SU9 and SU10 Beta, but generally limited to European servers. I’m usually on the US East server, which may explain my lack of issues.

I have been plagued with CTDs since Friday, I initially (like others) thought it was GSX. After testing, reading other forums threads etc, I now believe it's an issue with the sim itself, more specifically the online services, causing the CTDs

I too, have experienced several CTD with the B 737-700 in the past 3 days. The CTD were so bad I decided to reinstall the plane. I was able to get the plane to fly after a fresh install. The next morning, the CTD began again. I do own the B737-600 and experience no CTD with it. But when I switch back to the -700 version, CTD again. My system is the 12 Gen i9, 128 GB Ram, and nVidia RTX3090. I don't use any add-ons.

I don't know if my experience the last few day is to any help here! Microsoft made an automatic update for my Nvidia GPU and soundcard 2 days ago, and I noticed it, because the sounds was coming from my display instead of from my speakers. The sound update was a Realtek sounddriver. In 2 days i got CTD just like you describe it, mostly at the start of a flight at take of and ones just after landing and it was with PMDG b737-700 and Fenix A320. I then clean out my driver with Display Driver Uninstaller DDU, following the instructions and installed the latest Nvidia driver for my Geforce RTX 2060 Super graphiccard also with a Nvidia soundcard driver in the download.
The problem is solved for me now,I have had a coupled of flights with no CTD's :-)

After last update I experience crashes as well. More flight I lost because of crashes then finished on the runway. It only concerns the 737. The Fenix, Piper fly without issues. Before that update the 737-700 was solid as a rock (almost). For the record, I don't overclock anything in my system.

I have frequent CTD issues as well. Some of them happen when I'm away from the PC (left the plane on autopilot). When I return, discover that MSFS is no longer running, although there's no dialog box about the CTD issue.
Others sometimes happen on switching views on the cockpit or on external view, when the image gets blurred immediately before the CTD.
Some others happen when the CPU fan is rotating fast (or would it be the GPU fan?) and really making lots of noise.
I have a reasonable system, in terms of technical specs, and for me it is hard to believe that MSFS has a CTD because either the CPU or the GPU is overheating.

(GPU - Nvidia GEForce GTX 1660 TI)
    (CPU - Intel Core I7-8700 @ 3.2 GHz Cores - 6, Logical Processors - 12)

Rob, I am not sure if my input would help but I also had really annoying issues with the 737 when it first came out.
It would stall on final had erroneous weights etc. Went on with PMDG support and they didn't find anything wrong with it. In the end there was no clear solution from PMDG so I went ahead and cleared my MSFS 2020 online profile (caution it will delete logbook, controller settings, everything) but it will setup a new fresh MSFS profile that might fix the issue. This fixed it for me and never had any other issues. I also had other aircrafts that didn't have problems but for some reason the PMDG had something with my online profile that it didn't like.
This is a last resort but given the fact that all else is not working it might be worth a shot.
    Good luck!
    Teo

    Rob,

does MSFS show you any errors?

Would you mind to share your system specs?

Did you try it with only the 737 in the community folder?

Usually PMDG ticket support is top notch if followed word by word. The problem is that it's unlikely that your problems come only from the 737, I do get that you don't have any issues with other addons. But the plane works fine for the huge majority of other people so if it crashes on your side the probability is high that there is either an issue on your system or that there is an incompatibility with another addon. Or could it be that it always happens in the same situation? At the same airport? Maybe you do something "incorrectly" so there might be a bug that hasn't been found when procedures where followed? All those details are important when you search for a reason for CTDs.

I want to conclude; that I have tried everything to fix this issue that I can possibly try, Nothing has worked, and I cannot fly the aircraft. It's a real shame and I would have hoped other than the few messages that were sent, there would have been more support from PMDG. I didn't want to believe the customer support was bad when I had been warned but my experience hasn't been fantastic compared to other developers and simply found it lazy.

I have well and truly exhausted all my options now, Re-installed MSFS from fresh along with the PMDG and it still crashes to desktop after around 15 minutes. The only aircraft it happens with is still the PMDG. I have tried it exactly the same with the Fenix A320 and it worked perfectly, Back to the PMDG and instant crash. I guess no more PMDG for me, unfortunately, It's a shame as I was looking forward to picking up the -600 and -800. I will have to pass on those now.

Rob Randazzo (not to be confused with Rob the original poster),

I've got a similar issue, having the same type of memory error. So, I'll take you up on your offer even if the original poster won't. Firstly, all drivers/mods etc. are up to date. Second, community folder has the following contents. I've left out the separate CVT folders where redundant with the primary.

    AIG AIManager (was not running)
    AIG_Checker
aig-aitraffic-oci-beta (none of the aig traffic mods were running)
    AIGTech Traffic Controller
    aircraft-bombardier_crj_700
    aircraft-tbm930-improvement
    airportfinder
    ambitiouspilots-toolbar-pushback
    a-puf-we-love-vfr-region 2
all the asobo planes and content from the Premium Deluxe Edition
    B78XH
    bern (airport scenery)
    Canadian-Mods-bombardier_crj-700 v0.2
    dcdesigns-aircraft-concorde
    deejing-aircraft-rv7
    destroyer121-c17
    dhc8_q400
    egss (airport scenery)
    flybywire-aircraft-a320-neo
    FSUIPC
    gaist-msfs-V2
    gatwick
    geneva
    headwind-a330neo
Hippo Simulations, KSEA Enhancement Pack - No Static Aircraft
    ither-NoHandleBar
    jplogistics-c152
    kpae
    krnt
    kykm
    lausanne
    lucerne
    MSFS CelNav v2.22
    navigraph-ingamepanels-charts
    navigraph-navdata
    panc
pmdg-aircraft-737 (obviously, but trying to be complete)
    pms50-gns530
    salty-747
    senecadriver-los-angeles
    sion
    workingtitle-aircraft-cj4
    workingtitle-g3000
    workingtitle-gx
    z-conanza-g36-improvement-project
    zermatt

Also, since I own the steam version and bought some content that way, I have your DC-6 and some Paderborn scenery in the "Official" package folder, separate from community. I think that's because I picked them up through the marketplace.

Third, I have no public mods for your 737.

Finally, I was flying on VATSIM for one flight, so vPilot was running in the background.

    Any thoughts on conflicts?

I made 4 flights today without any problems… I found that AMD‘s Adrenalin software had enabled automatic/ dynamic overclocking of CPU and GPU although I had done that before with a precisely calculated and tested OC profile in BIOS. I turned it off, checked BIOS that my settings were still there, they were not. Reenabled them et voilà… MSFS+PMDG stable and smooth 😇
