PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

12) HAVE FUN: This is the whole point of it all.

The strobe issue I submit the ticket and got the answer that it'll be fixed in this update, but maybe Paul thought it's the ERF in FSX like you. But what I reported was for B748 and I don't think B748 has a ERF variant. The time of each "flash" was too long compared to the real one. I know it's LED typed strobe but the "flash" is too long.

Always good to finally here some news about X-Plane. But I definitely think for the next plane to port over should not be the 737 but either the 777 or 747. X-Plane already has an abundance of 737, and the Zibo 737 is really an excellent example and it's constantly being updated pretty much on a daily basis.

My vote would be to port the 777 and or the 747. Cause X-Plane doesn't have any good ones yet.

Please read the forum rules up top, and follow the instructions there to create a forum signature. (You seem to have done this already with the banner- so you are half way there!) We require that your name appear in the signature block, thanks.

To be a bit clearer: There are four suppliers providing strobes for this airplane in three possible assembly configurations. The assembly configuration will vary depending upon date of manufacture and a number of items chosen by the carrier.

We have packed something to the tune of 500+ options into the airplane, but we do not intend to model every possible options as it simply isn't possible.

I saw that, but since Boeing itself and so much carriers not using the variant you made, why you choose this variant? Just curious.

I wasn't going to respond to this but for some reason you seem to want to poke it to the developers and I gotta push back. PMDG pays a hefty fee to Boeing for the engineering data that Boeing decides it will share with PMDG. Let it go,.

Hi again, I have the FlightSimApp installed thru SimServer and see the EFB on my IPAD. But when I go to look at charts on my Ipad it says it cant do that because of licensing restrictions. But as Robert stated there has been an agreement reached and with the last update my 747-8i now supports this. So how do I get this restriction lifted so I can see my charts on my ipad. I have the necessary subscription from Navigraph, etc. Thank you for anyone's help!

I may have answered my own question.. Could someone confirm? I can see the charts on my iPAD but only after I call it up on the EFB in the cockpit? All charts must be first called up on the EFB in the cockpit first? I cant change anything from my iPAD itself? Thanks!

If you are in external view or another view besides the cockpit the IPAD application will not be refreshed. This is know and needs a fixing from our side.

                            Folks,

Okay- it is time to start paying some basic level of attention.

Two posts above this one, a user failed to sign his post. Chris very politely reminded him to do so- then the VERY next post went unsigned.

Please don't make us be mean to you. Read the forum rules, comply with the signature requirements- and we can all remain focused on the reason why we are here.

Probably not why the vast majority have unsigned posts, but I've noticed that the few posts I've made appear unsigned when I first post them. I have to go back into my signature and save it again for it to appear. That might explain the unsigned that are in the 3-10 post range.

Not to sound too overly dramatic, but since I only fly the 737 family, although I bought every PMDG planes, I’m putting my P3D career on hold until the NG3 comes out. Time to take a little break and revisit another hobby, sim racing. I will definitely stay in touch with this forum. When the NG3 releases, it’ll be nice and fresh. And who knows, maybe there will be a new P3D version as well. Really looking forward to start flying again with a new and improved NGX.

I don’t know if my signature is showing up, but I think I followed the guide to add it.

The only thing I really hope will be changed in the NG3 is the cockpit window geometry, at least for non-HUD frames. The NGX still is such a good aircraft some eight years after its inception. For it to become even better is a promising outlook.

The size of the current PMDG NGX windshield is very oversized and has nothing to do with the real world... I´m sure that PMDG will fix this for the NG3

Can’t wait to see what’s involved in the NG3. I’m still satisfied with and really enjoy the 737NGX.

After installing the latest update, I took the P&W powered 747-400F out for a quick spin at EGPK Prestwick......and I was very happy to note that those RAAS announcements have returned Thanks, guys!
