PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

12) HAVE FUN: This is the whole point of it all.

I have been trying to get help on this for WEEKS but have not been able to access support nor the website and emails have been ignored until I opened this new account.
This could have easily been prevented had there been some forethought and some consideration for customers from PMDG by making an announcement on the OC opening page or (even!!!!!) providing an update via the button on the upper right side of the opening page!
After all isn't that what 'Notifications and NOTAMS' is all about??? Isn't that what it means, to inform people?????
PMDG quality has gone down the drain! The state of the new account introductory does-and-donts email very much reflects this.

Please add a signature to your profile in order to ensure that your posts are signed, real name first and last.. You were advised/agreed to this requirement when initially establishing an account. Thank you!

Support is not working with emails, so I am not sure where you have sent them and you expected an answer.

            Chris,
Thank you for your reply but I have signed my post!
You allude to the introductory 'does and donts' document that I mentioned but it is precisely the point that I made about that document's quality, or lack there of, as to why I did not read it! It is not in a format that readily lends itself to easy reading!
In my post I also talked about informing people; the emails that I have sent have been addressed to '[email protected]' which, as far as I am aware, and continue to be aware, was the right place to get assistance, if PMDG has changed that for whatever reason then it is up to PMDG to INFORM people!
I also tried to get support on the PMDG website but to no avail, I was repeatedly presented with a 'not authorised' message!
I have had an account with PMDG for a long time but when trying to logon to seek assistance for the problems that I was enountering with OC my login repeatedly failed and when asking for a password reminder or reset I was told, again repeatedly, that there was no record of my address or username so, as has been a regular occurence over recent months PMDG has continued to fail me! How many more customers (or ex-customers) are there out there that find themselves in the same position?
PMDG is failing its customers but all that seems to matter to PMDG when I and others submit posts to your forum is whether we have included our FULL name at the bottom!!!
If nothing else PMDG needs to get a sense of perspective!

Mike, PMDG has never used email for product support that I am aware of. You need to create a new account at support.pmdg.com because sales, forum and support are separate.

It is three weeks since I submitted my post but I have received NOTHING in the way of a reply from PMDG. Instead I get an arrogant and threatening comment telling me that unless I include a signature my query will not receive a reply.
In that comment Chris Makris gives me a link to where it is said that I need to include a signature but NOWHERE in that document does it say that I have to include a signature to my posts.
PMDG has cut its operations down to almost bare bones to the point now where their service, if indeed it can be called a service, does not exist.
I have bought three aircraft models from PMDG but all the thanks I get is nothing short of contempt! I have the ORIGINAL QOTSII (whatever suffix PMDG puts on to it) but I can no longer get liveries or paint kits for it. In the downloads section of the website it suggests that the paint kits for the QOTS II -ER and -F versions can be downloaded but the files that are downloaded are for QOTS v3!
Clearly PMDG has no idea what it is doing. it once used to produce good products with good support but the company cannot lay claim to that any longer.
Some might say that PMDG no longer supports the QOTS II hence the lack of liveries but MS no longer supports FS9 or FSX but I can still get default and third party liveries and sceneries for those simulators.
It appears to me that PMDG have colluded (arm up the back?) with AVSIM Library to remove ALL files relating to the earlier Queen.
PMDG takes your money and forgets about you and I do not think that is healthy for me as a customer. In the long term it may also be seen to be unhealthy for PMDG too and I for one will not lament its demise!

I have a correction to make: I have bought FOUR PMDG products not three.

You evidently didn't read his entire post because immediately after he mentioned the requirement to include a signature, he said the following:
Originally posted by cmakris View Post

The proper method of support is by submitting a support ticket at support.pmdg.com. If you've never submitted one before, which it sounds like you haven't, you will need to create a new account to do so since this is separate from the store account. I looked at your post, but I'm not even sure what the actual issue you're having is, so kind of hard for me to even try to help when I don't even know what's going on.

As for the signature, check the rules here:

              https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-fo...dg-forum-rules

The link Chris provided was just how to set your signature up.

Hello Kevin thanks for your response. I have already seen the link that you provide, it is the same link that I made reference to in my post.
Nowhere at that link, however, does it say that I have to include a signature with my comments. Indeed there is one post in this chain that has no signature or full name disclosed but I do not see that person getting the negative treatment that I recieved!
Secondly, Chris Makris made the threat that unless I include a signature I will not receive a reply! I do not understand that! As a gesture of good will and in the name of "proper and sincere" customer service I would expect him to have responded to my post in a helpful manner and politely telling me to include my name in the process. But no! Arrogance and contempt prevailed!
You make the observation that I have never opened a support ticket but you are wrong! Until PMDG unilaterally changed its procedures and its website and everything that it does I had an account both for the forum and for support but when I found out that my login details were no longer valid I tried to contact support but they did not respond. Hence my account name on the forum "Lost_Account". I sent an email to PMDG to tell them that my email address had changed but they did nothing!
Furthermore, I do not accept any company trying to FORCE me to buy updates to products that I have previously bought. Those products were bought in very good faith and loyalty but I will NOT tolerate disloyalty from PMDG, or any other company for that matter, whether intentional or other wise, without an apology. The first post in this chain tells the story of how PMDG disenfranchises its customers!
