Captains-
A short bit ago, we released an update for the PMDG DC-6 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This update follows up on our desire to keep the state of the DC-6 moving forward with changes in the MSFS platform so that you will be able to continue enjoying the airplane as well as new features and technologies that get added to Microsoft Flight Simulator going forward.

We have been monitoring progress in a few key areas of the simulation platform, such as the great work being done by Working Title, changes in stability handling and a few other fixes on the platform side and we are taking this opportunity to fold those into the DC-6 for your enjoyment.
This update is available to all PMDG eCommerce customers immediately using the PMDG Operations Center. Simply click on Aircraft and Liveries then Product Updates. This will take you to the Product Updates page within PMDG Operations Center, where the update button will be highlighted for you to grab the latest build of the DC-6.
If you purchased your PMDG DC-6 for Microsoft Flight Simulator from the Microsoft Flght Simulator Marketplace, we have handed the new update to Microsoft for distribution, and you will receive it via the marketplace content update process once they push it along the release path. (We hope quickly- but don't have a feel for how quickly just yet!)
As with all PMDG updates, many of the changes are very small and focused on details, but the major topic areas for this update are as follows:
* Utilize the Working Title GNS430 for GPS and autopilot
* Flight model stability alterations and improvements
* Autopilot tuning and improvements
* Increase resolution and sharpness of some overhead panel placards
* Fix for gyro-pilot dropping out of NAV mode when disabling ALT HOLD
* GPS now correctly powers on/off/reboots with avionics master
* Fix to prevent gyro-pilot's 2 minute 'gyro erection timer' interfering with gyro-pilot use when spawning already airborne airborne.
We have been holding this update, pending the AAU1 update from Asobo getting made live- so we thank you fro your patience as we brought this update to you. The new GNS430 from Working Title is *far* more robust than the original Asobo-designed GNS430, so we think you will enjoy this update because of the improved navigation performance that you can have using this new GPS.
We are working to bring more GPS options into the DC-6, and we will roll those to you as they are completed/vetted. We do have to take these modifications carefully- and we don't plan to say much about them until they roll out- so stay tuned to the update process for more goodies.
As always- thank you for your enthusiastic support of our products and our efforts to keep them working well as the MSFS platform changes and grows!
