PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

Updated pricing for all models, or just the -600?

I was still hoping on discounts for existing owners of the 737 for MSFS. It still seems ridiculous to me that owning the entire fleet will cost nearly 2x as much on MSFS than P3D.

I understand having to recoup the lost sales from the credits given out, but taking it from your most loyal customers (instead of single buyers) doesn't seem like the friendliest way to do it. But then again I'm not a business owner.

This is a great update. Thanks Robert. I just have a quick question - If current 700 owners don't own the 600, will it appear online as the 700? Or will it display as the generic ASOBO twin engine jet model? Is this something that PMDG codes into the aircraft?

That will depend on your Model Matching. If you don't have any, the sim will likely show it as a "twin engined airliner". If you're using model matching, then provided you have that model installed as an AI model, then it'll show with the AI version rather than the PMDG model - unless you setup a rule that specifically shows the PMDG

A great man once said: "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."

This quote will be my last message related to PMDG's disappointing treatment of their P3D customers, as I know we were useful in the past but not needed in this new great era of M$F$.

"Shut up, boomer" I can hear many here say. And I'll do precisely that, don't mind me.

Guys- PMDG didn't promise you anything. Id love to see where RSR or anyone else said I promise you .....
The fact is, at the end of the day this is a business. Makes no sense on supporting a "dead" simulator. Ath this point go get your FREE updated version, in a MUCH better simulator. Go fly...

They said the LNAV would be coming to P3D, starting with the QOTS II/747. They had it in testing already back in January. Maybe not precisely a promise, but for sure a commitment.

@StachM… I wouldn’t expect anything for any of their P3D products. It looks like to me they totally walked away from it. I don’t think they care anymore about their huge P3D customers. I feel misled and heartbroken 💔

So PMDGs (Robert's) statements on what they are working on should not be taken as commitments (promises?) Yes, they are a business, and they have a lot of customers on P3D...If the "simulator" is dead, and there will be no more support as in enhancements/fixes, it should be stated in their website, prior to somebody making a purchase...

Also i hope some rework for pricing model,

        Standalone Version @ 50-70$

And Extension version @ 10-25$ per variant and or 40$ for bundle of other 3 variant

Just a fair warning that PMDG typically doesn't allow discussion of pricing on their forums.

Aside from that, I am curious what you mean by "Extension version." What extension version are you talking about? All four 737 models will be standalone versions. None of them will require the purchase of a different version in order to work. They will all work perfectly fine on their own without the need to purchase anything else.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic but if you search for about 5 seconds you can find multiple posts where he mentions this update multiple times for new owners.

Thanks for also telling me what to be thanking RSR for (??). You have quite literally missed the entire point.

Ah we have a Nelson Mandela here telling people what they should be doing.

It's actually cartoon to assume that if I am not using a certain sim that means nobody is using it.I haven't been to burger king since over 2 years now, am pretty sure it's dead as well.

Where - or from what information - did you conclude that?

As far as I can tell, and remember, P3D products would be retrofittet eventually. But the main focus is understandably MSFS for now. If you don't like that, then I don't know what to say. It's a new sim, new customers and that's (understandably) where the developmental focus is and where it should be, in my opinion.

We know that you are out there (the diminishing P3D customers). PMDG know you are out there. No one's renegging (from what I can read) on anything! It's coming - but it's taking time, as the resources is focused elsewhere currently. Please don't come in here stirring the place up, with your complaints.
                              Best regards,

As heavily invested customers in PMDG products, I think we have the right to ask for questions/clarifications (I don't think this is "stirring the place up..."). Maybe they meant that at the moment, they are focusing on MSFS, only to then resume some of the work on the P3D products...this could easily be explained/clarified...

Please apply my credit towards the labor costs involved in honoring your implicit commitments to existing P3D product lines. Or, at least be explicit about your intentions regarding that simulator so that I can make informed decisions. I am a long-term customer and understand "market dynamics," but I also understand the ethics of promises made and delivered. Be forthright if you intend to "break up" with your Prepar3d customers rather than giving us the "slow let down." Surely some of that unclaimed $350,000 could be allocated to make good on your word.

I'm not personally a big tubeliner fan, and I've certainly never felt inclined to get to grips with seriously learning how to fly one properly. I never saw the point in spending ages setting up a flight and then hours sitting in a virtual cockpit with nothing to look at outside but clouds, sky or maybe distant green or blue down below. It never struck me as any more exciting than sitting in coach class for ten hours in real life, and has about as much appeal to me.

                                But . . .

I bought the 737-700, and might even get around to trying to fly it properly, even if I only hang around for the start and end of the flight. It looks wonderful, and that is what counts for me.

And - I didn't actually know much about the real 737s, so I'm really quite pleased to see there is a "stubby" model and that will be the next one along. Regardless of how well I get on with the current version I will almost certainly buy the -600 when it comes out. The whole sim thing is about visuals for me - I might just about be able to stay in the cockpit for a (short) flight of any kind, which I will record. My real enjoyment though comes on the playback which is invariably done 95% or more in outside or drone view, messing about with ToD, weather etc., and is usually done at pretty low altitudes as I like to see the scenery.

So although I dare say it will horrify some folk here, I shall look forward to a bit of hedge-hopping in the -600 (assuming I've figured out how to get off the ground by then).

                                cheers,

                                Andy (Collins)

I really look forward to the -600, the only 737NG that comes without winglets. Thus, the only one which can realistically be used as a MALEV aircraft. Without any takeoff performance calculator for this variant, I will probably wait until the PMDG EFB also comes out.

Nope. I took N1TS for a few flights in P3D over the weekend. She’s sitting there in MSFS as well.

Yes I have. I have been around since 2006. The 777 was released in September of 2013 for Flight Simulator X

For a few years now, we have been at work conducting a full rebuild on the lateral and vertical path modeling capability for the PMDG FMS used by all of our Boeing airliners. This project has been a bit of a "ship in a storm" in that successive planned rollouts under Prepar3D got sidelined by larger market dynamics. The good news is that we are preparing to insert it into testing within the PMDG 737 for MSFS, and it will then roll out to you in the forum of a free update. This modern path modeling has been something we have been building toward for some time and it will dramatically improve the accuracy of how PMDG airliners move through the sky in a 3D pathway. It is a thing of beauty and while we thought it would be sidelined unless/until Asobo finally delivers on their promise to give us modern debugging tools, we have continued to hammer away at this because it is important- and thus far it looks like the fruit of our labor will pay off handsomely in spite of the lack of support of modern tooling.
Will this properly simulate the ability to fly RNP AR approaches and RF legs? Or is that coming as a later update?

This is already possible and has been shown off by numerous streamers.
