PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

12) HAVE FUN: This is the whole point of it all.

Nope doesn't work for me. Not windowed not full screens. Not a big deal but it's convenient to pop out PFD for landing I'm wondering if me being in PMDG mouse interaction version is playing into it.

Thanks for the update , just want to give you feedback about the rudder issue, that problem still exists ( keep snapping back to center ) .

Thanks for the update! The download succeeded without a hitch and only took a couple of minutes (from The Netherlands at 2110Z), so no CDN issues... yet.

As for the change list: may I suggest sorting it by category instead of tracking number, in order to increase readability? Cheers!

Are there any plans to update the P3D version of the BBJ with the uprated engines that are present in the MSFS version? The lower thrust engines kneecapping its ability to get in and out of smaller airports have been the only thing keeping me from flying it all the time.

Back to pop ups for a second. What are they called in control assignment UI? I suspect I unmapped them. Thanks. Nope I just switched over to default profile and there is no specific mapping for pop up so something else is going on.

Nameless- Please add a signature block to your posts as required by forum guidelines. (Yes, I can see you used your name as a forum nic, but we do require the sig block so that the forum mods working from different platforms don't have to jump through hoops. Consistency is important, thanks!) There were no texture resolution changes made. Are you by chance tinkering with dev mode/fast wasm? If so- that will be your issue. Fast Wasm does a ton of stuff the kills both visual quality and optimization. Beyond this- there really isn't much guesswork here. I know what goes into the build process and I'd see it right away if the texture resolution went down. In some places it actually went up. - RSR

Agree. Texture res has dropped considerably. I am running as normal, no change to anything except the new pmdg update. MSFS looking like FS4. (Well….)

Something I noticed in Ops Center when downloading the update. The "of" file count get cut off when the file number being downloaded in greater than 10 (i.e.: at 10 it is "of 135", at 1000 it is "of 13").

Not a biggie, but just wanted to mention this observation.

                      pmdg-update.jpg

Now do I fire up the sim to try the update, or wait for the approaching thunderstorm to pass? 🤔

My suggestion would be at the very least to fire up the sim and get that initial long load time out of the way for the -700, freighter, and BBJ. Then you won't have to worry about it when you want to actually go fly.

Jose - Maybe you are not aware but the 737 which PMDG was modeling while developing the aircraft for MSFS (and it's the one we are flying) was relatively new to its operator's fleet according to what Robert had stated in a previous update.

So the 737 is still useless. The rudder and nose wheel cannot be used with the Hotas One either. This means that it is not possible to control the aircraft on the ground.

The CDU options have a setting for either use the tiller (propeller 1 axis) or the rudder pedals to steer. If I set it to rudder pedals I can taxi around like in a Cessna 172. Should be no issue with a twistable joystick either, since it‘s just an axis.

Just as a side note, I tried to deactivate the PMDG twice before uninstalling it but in the PMDG options in the FMC there is no such option (as it was in P3D). It does show in the "Introduction" manual but it's not in the actual FMC. Does it automatically deactivate the license when you uninstall it? If not, how's the correct way to deactivate the license?

Thanks again for this great product.

Yeah, it's not in the changelog if you look for it. They are still probably waiting for the SDK update from Asobo to address the issue. Might not be fixed until SU10 unfortunately

Lucas- What we really need is some information from them on what their logic does behind the scenes in the sim. Normally it wouldn't be that hard a question to answer, but I've asked it a half dozen ways and gotten no useful information back yet. It becomes a bit of a game sometimes. - RSR

Rob - I know people have been frustrated with this issue myself included, but I'm aware this in no way is an issue on your end and that it is on Asobo to address the issue. You guys released arguably the best addon for MSFS so far with more to come. I can only imagine how hard it must be to be a developer when essentially every update to the sim breaks it in some fashion. Keep up the great work I'm rooting for you - Lucas

I don't see it in the change log but could any of the changes have affected fuel consumption? Using Simbrief, I landed with way more fuel then I normally do. About 14,000 lbs of fuel. Normally I land with somewhere between 5k and 7k. Pretty certain I typed it in correctly.
