PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

12) HAVE FUN: This is the whole point of it all.

[27FEB21] PMDG 777-200ER released, as well as MASSIVE free updates for PMDG 777-200LRF Base Package and PMDG 777-300ER

    Captains,

After nearly eight years, the wait is finally over for all lovers of the 777-200ER!

A few moments ago we made live the latest installment to our venerable 777 simulation, in the forum of the PMDG 777-200ER Expansion. You can grab your copy right now, by visiting www.PMDG.com.

    PMDG_777ER_RR.jpg

With this release comes a pair of MASSIVE free updates to your existing 777 products for Prepar3D v4, and the release of our much anticipated compatibility update that will allow you to use the 777 family of products in Prepar3D v5.

We have been giving you a regular dose of updates on the contents of this free update, but for those who might have missed out, this is essentially a full rebuild of the entire 777 product line, complete with new fly-by-wire, new flight models, new exterior models (pbr compatible with P3D v5) updated systems logic, added ground services, new sound engine, updated VNAV logic, integration for compatibility with PMDG Global Flight Operations, and much, much more. We have a new cockpit model coming for you a bit later in the year, but even with that pending we did add some new features including the EFB (requires purchase of 200ER) and cockpit motion, as well as the rare Para-Visual Display for you BA fans who have the 200ER.

We have a full suite of paintkits coming for all variants and these will get you painters running in P3D v4/5...

These updates, because of their size, are NOT coming to you via the Operations Center. You must log into your account at www.pmdg.com and redownload the 777 products from your account.

We STRONGLY recommend that you completely uninstall any previous installation of the 777, and delete all associated files, including flight plans, saved flights etc. Then install anew from the fresh installers and you will off and running!

A note for our Aerosoft Customers: We tried very hard to get this release done mid-week in order to give Aerosoft time to make the update live in their system for you, but unfortunately this didn't happen. We will be sending them the data that they need late tonight, but I do not know if it is reasonable to expect them to get set up for you to obtain the update during the course of the weekend. Please be kind to their support team- the release schedule is OURS, not theirs- and we know they will be on top of the update just as soon as possible.

Okay- with that- All of us are going to grab a quick bite to eat. Let us know what you think of the new update and the new 200ER!

            beautiful!

and my old system runs it at 50-55FPS with no stutters on the ground at night in Justsim's EDDS. Now I can't wait to fly her but the Navigraph Manager takes ages lol

                  Thanks for the shared Jewel.

I am sure that this weekend will be overnight for many and we will see a strong presence of 777s in the online flight networks

Let's just hope that the wives understand us that we wait a long time for this and it is time to attend to the new member of the family ...

                  Happy weekend and happy flights.

I activated my keys and tested out the engines sounds before I grabbed dinner... I have to say, those are some of the best sounding engines I've ever heard. Those PW and RR engines are just out-freaking-standing! Marvelous job to the PMDG team and thank you guys SO much for providing such a high-fidelity product that none of us will keep our hands off of for many, many years to come!!!!!

Downloading as well. If I may, it may be good to update the website for the LR and 300ER about compatibility with P3D v5 to avoid further confusion.

The Glareshield PNL/Flood turn knob on the OHP makes the sim lag extremely. The other light knobs are fine. I'm at night in FlyTampa's TNCM.

Yes, just re-download the installers from the original purchase. Uninstall your current ones on your system then install the ones you just downloaded and voila!

                                              Amazing! Thank you!

Really dumb question - I have the -200LR ... when I redownload this in my account, how can I verify I'm using the updated version?
I think you can't, you will know when launching the .exe, you will have the Prepar3D v5 option, just downloaded and installed it, you can go!

When you boot up the simulator and load a scenario in the selected aircraft you want to activate a little white box will appear asking you to put your key in there,

                                                  Hope that helps you.

I'm using v4.5 - so I'm basically just trying to update my current one. I've already installed, but I can't visually tell any differences which is why I'm trying to see if there is a way to confirm via version model.

I understand, but with the update comes de compatibly for v5, so you DL the installer, launch it, if it says it is ALSO compatible v5, then it means you have the latest version, chose Prepar3D v4 option and have fun!

Check in Operations Centre. It should say V 1.11.1131 installed for any 777 you have.

Got the base package free upgrade to V5 and added the -200ER. I did my 1st flight - very smooth. It's been a year since I was inside the 777 cockpit. But flying the 747 every day, the transition back to the 777 was effortless. If you know the EFB and FMC on the 747, it is pretty much the same as the 777.
