PMDG Forum Rules

1) SIGN YOUR POSTS. Since 1997, we have asked users to sign their real name, first and last, to all posts in the PMDG forum. We do this in order to keep conversations personal and familiar. You took the time to be here, we want to get to know you. This is one of the few rigid rules that we enforce regularly. We do so because we feel that forums in which users must engage one another personally are generally warmer, more collegial and friendly. Posts that are unsigned will be quietly removed without comment by the moderators, so to make your life easy- we recommend enabling your forum signature so that you never need to remember. Do this by clicking the username pull-down at the top right, then selecting "User Settings." You will find the signature editor on the ACCOUNT tab, about half way down the page. Look for "Edit Post Signature." Be sure to click the "Show Signatures" box.

2) BE NICE. We are all simmers here and no matter our differences of opinion, we share a common love of aviation, computing and simulation. Treat everyone else in the forum with respect even when you disagree. If someone frustrates you, walk away from the conversation or ask for a moderator to get involved. Speaking of Moderators, they prefer not to be treated as "The Thought Police" but if any behavior infringes on the enjoyment of another user or is otherwise considered to be unacceptable in the moderator's judgment, it will be addressed in keeping with our view of ensuring that this forum remains a healthy environment for all simmers.

3) BE LAWFUL: Any behavior that infringes upon the law, such as discussion or solicitation of piracy, threats, intimidation or abuse will be handled unsympathetically by the moderators. Threats and intimidation may, at the moderator's discretion, be provided to law enforcement for handling.

4) BE FACTUAL: When you post, always be factual. Moderators will remove posts that are determined not to be factually accurate.

5) RESPECT COPYRIGHTS: Posting of copyrighted material such as flight manuals owned by Boeing or various airlines is not allowed in this forum. If you have questions related to copyrighted material, please contact a forum moderator for clarification.

6) RESPECT PMDG: We love to hear what you like about our products. We also like to hear what you think can be improved, or what isn't working. Please do tell us and we will always treat your feedback with value. Just be sure to treat the team respectfully, as they do put a significant amount of effort into building and maintaining these great simulation products for you.

7) RESPECT PMDG DEVELOPERS: All of the developers will spend some time here. Given the ratio of developers-to-users, it simply isn't possible for us to answer every post and private message individually. Please know that we do try to read everything, but developer workload is simply too high to manage personal contact with tens-of-thousands of users simultaneously. In most cases, members of the development team will stick to conversations in the forum and will not answer private messages.

8) RESPECT OTHER DEVELOPERS: PMDG has always advocated for a strong development community and we have many friends within this community. Every developer offers something unique that helps to make the simming community larger and more vibrant. We insist that you treat our friends respectfully.

9) RESPECT MODERATORS: Moderators have a tough job, and none of them enjoy having to stomp out negativity. If a moderator has to weigh in to keep a thread peaceful, please respect that effort and refrain from giving the moderator any grief.

10) If you require official support for any of our products please open a support ticket through the support portal, https://support.precisionmanuals.com

11) This forum is designed primarily as a vehicle for the PMDG development team to interact with our customers, and for customers to interact with one another in a manner that is positive, supportive and assists in the general advancement of understanding the simulation and helping to make this and future simulations better. Any other use of this forum is not permitted, including but not limited to discussion of pricing policies, business practices, forum moderating policies, advertising of non-PMDG products, promotion of events, services or products that are not approved in advance by PMDG or any other topic deemed unacceptable by any forum administrator

12) HAVE FUN: This is the whole point of it all.

Because 32 bit is an ancient dinosaur. 64 bit has many possibilities for that "as real as it gets" experience.

I moved on to p3d5 and I’ve missed her so. Almost....reinstalled v4 to get her back, along with the DC6. Thank you for the continued support. I will continue to purchase every offering you provide.

So will the T7 update include support for P3DV5? And of course will the 200ER work in V5 on day one?

You would have to uninstall the 777 and then run the latest installer since there's way too many things that need updating for the Operations Center to be able to handle. But if you're going to install it in V5 or install it in both V4 and V5, you're going to have to uninstall it and run the latest installer anyway since the only way you can install it in either or both is by selecting it on the install screen.

First, most airlines actually fly the -200ER, which makes it more realistic versus just slapping the livery onto the -200LR and calling it done, as only 60 -200LRs were built, so most of the liveries you see on the -200LR are fictional. Second, you have the different engine variants.

Really looking forward to fly the 200ER, EFB as well will make performance calculations easier for 300ER. Right now we don’t have any accurate tool to calculate performance for 300ER, well at least I am not aware of any

Until we get an EFB I've been using the TOPER for 777. It's adequate, not great but better than nothing.

The 777 is my favorite plane to fly. It has been over a year since I moved to v5. This will give me something to do in February as golf season is over. I like the Rio to São Paulo 777 route that American flies on the way back to the US flight 950 or 951 I think

you talk about ACARS, but what about CPDLC?
VATSIM and IVAO are compatible and it works on A3XX Fslabs with Hoppie. It would be a very amazing tool to include it in your planes too...

It's still not quite there yet. Once the complete SDK is out there, it would definitely become the future of flight simming.

Its already hard and annoying as a pilot to make ATC to provide CPDLC via Hoppie.

They did previously mention somewhere that they have worked with the various online networks to integrate GFO, but it's unknown exactly how they've gone about that, or whether it'll be compatible with existing ATC suites that already have the integration with Hoppie. However, I'm more interested in how it's going to handle single logons for multiple sectors within a given FIR or even an entire country with multiple FIRs, since Hoppie has a limitation where, for example, EGTT (London FIR) cannot be used for multiple EGTT controllers at the same time, and thus, EGTT controllers on VATSIM using Hoppie have to use LONx (where x is a sector, for example, LONS is London South). KUSA is even more complicated since it covers the entire contiguous USA, but then you have multiple FIRs in different timezones, so it has to be routed to the right controller, since you wouldn't want a CPDLC downlink meant for KZNY being sent to a controller that's in KZOB, for example.

Thanks to the integration of a plugin into the UK's controller packs, usage of CPDLC should be increasing there - I'm certainly logging on when I'm controlling (mostly on LON_W) although I have used elsewhere.

Apologies if I've missed it - will the paintkit remain the same or will there be an updated one at some point after release?

I'm just guessing, mind you, but I'm guessing fuselage will most likely remain the same since the -200LR and the -200ER are the same length. Engines would require new textures since they weren't included in the original paint kit that only contained the GE90s, and wings would most likely need an adjustment since the -200ER doesn't have raked wingtips. Probably adding the PBR textures, too.

Awesome work. Can't wait to have them in sim.

Preferably a rear 3/4 view of all three because I will admit I have some doubts about the modeling on the P&W
Explain. I think PMDG got all data from Boeing to model the engines like the real one.

From the angle of the photos, the PW’s nozzle and exhaust spike looks like they were copy/pasted from the GE90 and then shrunk. I also can’t see the rectangular outlines that encircle the nozzle on the PW.

Actually- our 777 is really just a cut/paste of the 737, scaled up to fit the proper size for the 777. We have about a quarter million pages of documentation for it but we didn't bother to use any of it because it is just a big version of a 737 isn't it? (Okay for those without a sense of humor- I am being sarcastic. LOL) - RSR

                                                  Hi,

More about general question. Will the new version of the 777 be equiped with 8.33 radio? Still waiting for it on the 737.
It's really to bad to see PMDG who was way advance on the planes systems and now late compared to other developpers.
